| The Visioneer OneTouch 7600 USB lets you start a scan in one of four ways: via a button on the scanner, through an application that replicates the buttons onscreen, from PaperPort, or from any program with a scan command that supports TWAIN drivers. True to its name, the scanner sports four buttons on its front panel that let you scan with a single touch. The Scan button scans directly to PaperPort; Copy/Print sends the scan to your printer; the Fax button sends it to your fax software; and the Custom button, in default, runs the scan through PaperPort's OCR feature and sends the text to Windows Notepad. | | To use PaperPort, you simply load the program, then click on its TWAIN button to launch Visioneer's Scan Manager driver. You can set resolution, color mode, brightness, contrast, and color balance, as well as activate descreening. After you scan an image into PaperPort, you can send the file to another program, or to a word processor. When you send an image to a word processor, PaperPort will automatically convert it to text. |
