Palm connected organizers have no PC Card slots for adding peripheral functions. In the past users have had to clip on bulky external modules. GlobalPulse provides an efficient GSM data modem that runs as part of the Palm Computing platform and only needs a simple cable, which provides the data link between a mobile computing device (PDA, Palm connected organizer, handheld or notebook computer) and a GSM phone handset. GlobalPulse for the Palm OS operating system works with Palm III, Palm IIIc, Palm IIIe, Palm IIIx, Palm V, Palm Vx, and IBM WordPad connected organizers and with the market leading Nokia 51xx, 61xx phones as well as variants such as the Orange nk402 and nk702. Using this simple serial cable connection, users can synchronize their Palm organizer on the move, without the need for synchronizing cable.
