One of Australias highest altitude vineyard sites, Heggies vineyard has cool temperatures and rocky, well-drained soil. These provide the lean and environment necessary to stress and challenge the Chardonnay vines, resulting in low yields of quality berries with intense flavour. The grapes are hand-picked, then fermented and matured in a range of new and old French oak barriques for 11 months. The wine has fresh apple and pear flavours and a creamy nougat-like fullness.
