The Casio Satellite Navi GPS (Global Positioning System) watch is Casio's second generation GPS watch, it now features many new improvements on the original one from two years ago......... | This amazing watch has so many navigation l functions that we couldn't possibly tell you all of them in this brief description, so we've run through the main one's | The GPS watch takes its coordinates from up to 12 satellites and has a catalogue of some two hundred landmarks & areas already programmed into its memory for you to use as starter points, way points and destinations. | You can add your own landmarks and areas to this list to make the watch more customised to your needs. | There's a choice of 14 symbols to describe what type of landmark it is, i.e. petrol station, car park, etc..... | There are various different modes that you can access for your route and various different screen configurations for each mode including full & split screen. | These screen configurations can also be customised to show the information that you specifically want including destination pointer, distance, longitude and latitude, positioning, digital compass, maximum speed, heading and current speed, altitude and altitude graph (which shows the changes in altitude along your route). | The Current Position Measurement tells you your latitude, longitude, bearing, speed, maximum speed, altitude, it's updated each time your watch performs a GPS measurement in either a one shot reading or continuous readings. The Plot Screen shows a map and route to take. | You plan a route by selecting a start point and a destination. The watch will then offer a route (the watch can store up to 400 routes in its memory), if you wish, you can then customise this route by changing landmarks on route. The watch can be set to sound an alarm when you pass these landmarks or areas, you can also set the watch to record when you pass these points. Once you have reached your destination you can reverse the route plan screen to show the return journey. You can also plan your route on your PC and download it to your watch using the software package that comes with the watch, when you return you can upload your track points back to your PC and assess your journey. The GPS has a lithium ion rechargeable battery & comes with a charger which can be used with mains power, or you can put batteries in the charger for 'in the field' charging.
