VC is one of our rule-breakers hence its humble table wine classification despite its sumptuous character. It was one of Hugh Johnsons favourites at the recent tasting at Le Chai. Its made from the finest Viognier Condrieus grape again grown not that far from there either on the rugged slopes of the Ardeche. Winemaker Christelle Delamalmaison supervised the picking then sent the chilled juice up to Le Chai. The Chardonnay (50) came from stony slopes close to Carcassonne known as Les Caillo
