There is a lovely purity to the whites this year says Alex Gambal one of Burgundys leading negociants and his 2007 Clos du Cromin is indeed the epitome of purity. Clos du Cromin is a small deuxieme cru vineyard full of venerable 65-year-old Chardonnay vines that give the wines rich texture and wonderful depth of flavour. Alex says there are also a few Chardonnay Muscat vines intermingled in the vineyard which are the secret behind its exotic perfume!
