The X-Fly meets the demands of XC riding of being light, reliable, strong and easy to adjust. All this comes with typical Marzocchi quality and finish. |
| WEIGHT 3.5lbs (1590g) | TRAVEL 100mm | CONSTRUCTION | The X Fly has 30mm aluminium stanchions which make it lightweight. The Mag Powerwrap M Arch wraps around the outer leg to virtually eliminate independant leg movement. It provides incredible steering precision, a light weight, strength and rigidity, aswell as hiding this under sleek and smooth looks. The crown is fitted using Cryofit to match the tolerances precisely while eliminating the bolts and glue that add weight and weaken the system. International disc mounts are included to take 6" rotors. | FUNCTION | The X-Fly uses air to provide its spring. Air springs in Marzocchi forks are low pressure which puts less pressure on the seals which reduces leakage and the need for top ups. The X Fly has an HSCV (High Speed Compression Valve) cartridge. This regulates the oil into and out of the cartridge. It includes a shim stack on the valve that flexes when there is a hard or fast impact. This means that the fork can compress quickly when you hit a sudden or hard hit without blowing out the travel. The HSCV means that the X Fly takes small bumps as smoothly as the big hits. As if the X Fly isn't packed with features enough, it also incorporates ECC (extension control cartridge). This Marzocchi innovation means that you can lock the rebound extension in the compression position, providing not only the acceleration advantages of a rigid fork, but also a steepened headtube angle which provides improved steering control. It reduces bobbing during climbs. Also, ECC is simple to use and only requires a 90 degree turn | MAINTENANCE | Low maintenance is a feature of Marzocchi forks. They use an open oil bath damper which means that the forks are constantly lubed and cooled by oil. Bomber seals have a double lip seal design to keep the crud out of the fork. They are made from a rubber compound that minimizes stiction but is incredibly durable. Bushings in Marzocchi forks are longer for maximum load dispersion |
