Broman Daddy longlegs

This fly has been modelled on the insect with the same name, Daddy Longlegs. We have had sensational fly fishing experiences with these imitations. One in particular springs to mind: We were sitting by a small lake in Jämtland, watching the trout feed. After having spent the entire day trying to get the numerous trout to strike, we were close to giving up, when we saw a daddy longlegs crash to the surface of the lake. As he tried, unsuccessfully, to get free of the surface tension, the unfortunate little insect suddenly disappeared in an explosive wake. Mystery solved!

We´ve tricked many trout into striking since then, the fly looks incredibly lifelike when pulled in in jerky, small movements. Irresistable (if you´re a fish, that is!).
