2009 is a very well balanced year and is very lucky to be so. After a patchy start to the first half of the season with rain ever present and threatening, along came a blistering August that brought on the ripening of the grapes. If September had turned out hot and sunny we might have had another 2003 on our hands but cool cloudy weather reigned-in any excess.
