The first wines Bordeaux shipped to Britain (from the quayside by our Chai) werent red or white but pink or pale-red and came to be known - about 1000 years ago - as clairet. For this pink we head to our own Chateau La Clariere Laithwaite where our tiny production red claret has won GOLD every year for the last seven vintages.
