Jim Clendenen managed to lose himself in Burgundy whilst holidaying after his graduation from law school back in the seventies. What a relief he turned his back on law and immediately started making wine as hes produced some of the most exciting wines to come out of California. His winery, Au Bon Climat (translated as a well exposed vineyard) produces a range of Burgundian-inspired Pinots and Chardonnays as well as a whole bunch of experimental wines that regularly gain plaudits
