Verve Chardonnay 2011, Ocean Eight Mornington

Part of our Pop-Up Cellar sourced by Lay and Wheeler. The first Chardonnay to be picked on the Peninsula (with the exception of that used for sparkling wine), this is a bright and fresh style of Chardonnay, seeing absolutely no new oak. Citrus on the nose, with a notable gunflint aromatic. On the palate, the acidity is the absolute definition of racy, underpinning vibrant grapefruit notes and a very mineral, steely finish. Fresh, pure, mouthwatering; this is a real star.
