Known for his tongue-in-cheek references to French stereotypes, Jean-claude Mas has been hard at work behind the picket lines, creating another southern French varietal wine, in this case a full-bodied Merlot from the CÃteaux du Limousin. Deep purplish ruby red, this Merlot is typical of the plush, ripe style of southern France. Rich and smooth on the palate, which is crammed with blackberry and sweet spice. Best served with a rich sausage casserole, roasted red meat, turkey or goose.
