Campillo means little field, and was the name given to the first vineyard that the present owner, Don Julio Faustino Martinez replanted after the original vineyards were devastated by phyloxera. It is located in fine lime/clay soils in the high-altitude Alavesa region. A multiple-layered wine oozing with finesse. Cedar and spice notes abound, with hints of tobacco and caramelised orange interspersing the waves of dark fruit. An excellent partner for mature beef steaks or game.
