Alicante Bouchet, to give it its full French name, is notable for being one of the few red grapes that has red flesh as well as red skin. It produces richly coloured yet soft wines, and this example has been blended with Syrah for added complexity and structure. Deep, dense cherry red wine offering a lush, juicy palate of ripe red berry flavours with a rounded, mouth-filling texture. Subtle aromas of violets, vanilla and pepper. Great partner for pizza and roasted vegetables.
