The Jurtschitsch family have owned and run this estate since 1868, although there are written records of the property which date back to 1541, when it was a winery to the neighbouring Franciscan monastery. The wines are aged in a 1km-long cellar dug 14m underground. A crisp white wine, with a firm and focused backbone of citrus fruit, and a touch of peppery minerality that hints at the volcanic, granitic soils of the Stein vineyards. An ideal companion for poultry, salads or pasta dishes.
