The 1999 vintage was excellent in the Clare Valley. The grapes for this wine were at optimum ripeness after a dry summer and good rains just before harvest. The result is a wine displaying spicy aromas of sweet plum, blackberry and liquorice. With rich and concentrated black fruit on the palate and smooth, velvety tannins. The finish is awash with pepper and plum.
