The young and energetic Pascal Lachaux at Domaine Robert Arnoux produces wines of extraordinary elegance and charm. Robert Parker says `when Arnoux is on target his wines are among the most seductive and complex of all Burgundy`. The 1999 vintage is undoubtedly one of the greats of the last century and this Gevrey-Chambertin shows a rich, velvety nose of wonderful depth and class. The palate is balanced, enticing and full of developing fruit flavours of ripe cherry, raspberry and a peppering of blackcurrant integrated with hints of oak. A delightful complex, long finish displaying all the fine qualities of a great Burgundy vintage.
