This wine has been named after the Catalpa tree which grows in the Atamisque estate. The grapes here are hand-harvested and the juice fermented in new French oak barrels. 30 of the wine is allowed to age in the oak for 10 months before reblending with the remainder. Delicate aromas of white apples and pineapple, with the oak ageing exerting a faint honey and vanilla influence. Smooth on the palate, with a fine balance between fresh citrus fruit and woody toast.
