Ridge Monte Bello Chardonnay 2012, Santa Cruz

Taken from selected parcels of vines within several acres of Ridges Middle Vineyard, whose first Chardonnay vines were planted in 1949. With the most recent plantings dating from around 25 years ago. Low yields of berries from these mature vines are whole-buinch pressed and juice transferred to new and old American and French oak for fermentation and a total of 16 months ageing, giving intense flavours of pear, apple and fig with a deep, rich and oily texture.
