Scott design kids bikes to cope with the same demands that are placed on adult bikes. The Octane 200 provides a functional design which also looks cool. |
| FRAME | The Octane 200 uses Hi-Ten tubing to be strong enought to cope with the rigors of the trail. | SUSPENSION | Suspension has been proven by a German university to improve the health of riders and is provided front and rear on the Octane 200. This reduces the impact of harmful trail vibrations on young bones. It also helps steering over rough terrain and helps them maintain control. The Sporty SE fork provides 40mm of travel. | DRIVETRAIN | Most of the 10 speed drivetrain comes from Shimano. This is combined with Sram shifters. Sram uses gripshift which is simple and easy to use for small hands. | BRAKING | The brakes on the Octane 200 are made from alloy which is a strong yet lightweight material. They are also forged for additional strength. | WHEELS AND TYRES | The 24" wheels mean this bike usually fits 9-12 year olds. A Junior MX tread design is used on tyres to gain traction which gives steering and confidence |
