2007 gave some of the smallest grape harvests Italy has seen in 60 years ... but it`s excellent news! The grapes were even more concentrated than usual allowing winemaker Maurizio Biscardo to craft a truly exceptional wine. Maurizio has over 170 years of winemaking in his family and although virtually retired he says he `loves making wine for us`. When he and Tony Laithwaite met up last summer they immediately saw eye-to-eye and started discussing ways to make Colombella better than ever before.
