However, after the first World War it became fashionable for the more wealthy travellers to seek holidays further a field and in particular, France. In November 1924 a daily pullman service left London Victoria for Dover which would connect with a ferry where the passengers would, when reaching France, board a first class train that carried them to Paris. By 1926 a more affluent pullman service from Calais to Paris was established; this French service was given the name La Fleche dOr.; However, on the British side the Channel the official name of the train was the Dover Pullman Continental Express; but was affectionately named The White Pullman, a name that remained for some years but was eventually changed to perhaps the more famous The Golden Arrow.The King Arthur class locomotive and pullman cars included with this pack are representative of an element of The White Pullman; as the train may have been seen in the mid 1920s. 1500 pieces.For ages 8 years and over.
