Remember when Star Fox hit the SNES in 1992? Millions of gamers were blown away by the much-vaunted capabilities of the Super FX chip that accompanied Star Fox that Nintendo were so vigorously promoting. Back then it was state-of-the-art stuff, and a glimpse of things to come. And now, ten years on, the same technology has been squeezed into the wonder that is Game Boy Advance in a little game that goes by the name of Star X. |
| In a nutshell, Star X is a 3D shooter for a handheld console that seems to be wholly inspired by Nintendoıs 16-bit efforts. The game has been rendered in full 3D, although it lacks any kind of close up detail and fluid motion. Buy hey, itıs on a tiny LCD screen, and thatıs a very cool thing. | | Star Xıs plot is reminiscent of that V sci-fi series from the 1980's. After meeting with a seemingly friendly group of aliens, you, the hero, discover their real plans ı to enslave your race for the betterment of their own kind! | | You always knew they were up to something, but their plan is more sinister that you could have possibly imagined. So you must take your trusty fighter aircraft through a series of air and space-based missions before penetrating their layer and defeating the ultimate overlord boss. If you can accomplish all of the above, youıve completed the game. Thereıs a series of power-ups and other useful bonuses that will help you get there, but itıs largely down to your own skill, which is how games should be |
