We like old arcade games. In fact, some of them can still top the latest offerings seen on PlayStation 2 or GameCube for sheer playability. It was all down to gameplay back in the day, and to remind us of just that, Konami has released Arcade Classics for Game Boy Advance. |
| A compilation release, Konami offers old school veterans and gaming newcomers several of its most famous releases. The pack comprises of Green Beret, Gyruss, Time Pilot, two solid gold legends called Scramble and Frogger, and a crazy fighting game called Yei Ar Kung-fu. Itýs a great combination. | | Each game is exceptionally easy to learn, and the rules for all games become evident within about 30 seconds of play. Ah, the simplicity. | | Walking the extra mile, Konami has decided to revamp these games, making use of the GBAýs 32-bit processing power, making the game look noticeably better. But more importantly, they've included several new features such as additional levels, new characters and some brand new multi-player modes. A good decision, we think. | | Quite simply, Arcade Classics is retro Konami gameplay in its purest form and should be relished by all. Who knows, we may even see a portable version of Bishi Bashi in the future. We can but dream. |
