Etienne de Montille showed us his full range of Premier Crus this year and there was a clear winner - Les Chalumeaux. It was just that bit more fleshy and opulent than its peers and thats because the Premier Cru of Les Chalumeaux is Pulignys most northerly bordering Meursault so it shares some of its neighbours renowned opulence. This lush fruit dovetails beautifully with a steely core and a wonderfully perfumed nose of candied limes and lemons.
