Splendid northern Rhone Syrah from a seventh generation winemaking family. The vines between 40 and 95 years old grow `en gobelet` - as individual bushes - clinging to steep slopes of lean crushed granite and silt. This makes for tiny thick-skinned grapes and very imposing wines. The `05 is dense purple with cassis and mulberry fruit and as always will be bottled unfiltered to retain its full impact. Drink 2007-2016.
