| TRAVEL 120mm | WEIGHT 4.0lbs/1810g | FUNCTION | The Shiver SC is an inverted fork. It is coil sprung and features the HSCV cartridge that is now common amongst Marzocchi forks. This high speed compression valve is just what you need to handle big hits on the trail. A shim stack flexes open on high speed impacts to allow oil to flow into the fork so the fork can compress rapidly. Once the shims flex back they slow the compression of the fork. This enables the fork to handle big hits without blowing through travel. Lightened valving as a result of this allows the fork to be more sensitive to small bumps and less affected by braking. Not all freeriders just bomb it down the hill. We know that sometimes we want to climb and then we don't always want suspension. That's why even forks like the Shiver SC have the latest ECC. The extension control cartridge locks out the fork. It freezes it in the compressed position which reduces ride height for easier climbing aswell and steepening the head tube angle for better steering. All this comes at a simple 90 de | CONSTRUCTION | As you'd expect from Marzocchi, the construction of the Shiver SC is of the highest quality to withstand the knocks freeriding can throw at it. CNC machining is used to further strengthen the M crown. Cryofit is a technical process used by Marzocchi to bond the stanchions to the crown. The crowns are pressed into the stanchion to provide more strength than glue and less bulk and weight that bolts. 30mm aluminium stanchions further add strength to this set up. The coil springs are made from the highest grade CRSI wire to provide durability and active feel. It also features 20mm full clamp aluminium drop-outs which strengthens the fork crucially for big hits and improved steering. | MAINTENANCE | The open oil bath system which is found on Marzocchi forks provides not only crucial features in lubricating the fork to make it perform better, but by constantly lubing moving parts it reduces the requirements for maintenance. It also acts as a coolant to disperse energy.
