The Helsinki table was named so as the design is influenced by the classic trumpet base table by the prize-winning Scandinavian designer Eero Saarinen. This table also has a new under chamfered edge profile that was a feature of Saarinens original table.The top is fashioned from beautiful and hard wearing stone which is available in a choice of finishes and sizes. The classically influenced stone top contrasts with the sleek and sturdy brushed steel base to create an elegant yet thoroughly modern design.The table shown has a 200cm x 110cm elipse oval top in Sardo Grey granite. The Helsinki is also available with Carrara White marble and Nero Bon Accord granite tops.The marbles and granites used for these tables are around 200 to 300 million years old, and are quarried in Italy and south Africa respectively.
