The philosophy behind the design was also to recall the golden era of the thirties, in particular the Italian BOLIDISM and American streamlining movements that evolved from the Futurists, that lead to many industrial and domestic products becoming both aesthetically pleasing, practical and easier to use in a word ergonomic. The body of the machine is in aircraft quality aluminium alloy and is cast in the same foundry that produces the engine blocks for Ferrari and Alfa Romeo. The body is then hand polished and hand coated with a special lacquer to give very long lasting protection, maintaining the good looks and making cleaning simple. NIVOLA is a contemporary design classic. | | - Single Ergonomic Control - One ergonomic milled aluminium control knob operates both coffee and steam functions making the NIVOLA extremely easy to use. | | - Key Technical Features - Uses a heavy duty vibration pump that is noticeably quieter than many other machines on the market. | | Boiler: | The pressure boiler is made from marine quality brass, most domestic machines use aluminium for this component. Brass has excellent heat retention properties and helps ensure extremely consistent results. | | Element: | The 1000W element is stainless steel and extremely efficient and durable. | | Pressure: | The pump produces a nominal 15bar pressure and 9bar pressure is delivered to the group (the perfect pressure for espresso coffee). The result is espresso to match or better those served at a coffee bar. | | Temperature: | The NIVOLA features a patented precise temperature control system that regulates the water temperature to + or ntigrade at 92deg. This compares to standard thermostats in other home machines that can be inaccurate by as much as 10 deg C. It even surpasses many fully commercial machines where temperature can vary by as much as a 5 deg C. | | Intelligence: | The NIVOLA will only let the customer make a coffee or steam the milk when the pressure and temperature are perfect, If the machine is not ready a warning light is illuminated to inform the customer that the machine is in a state of preparation. | | Heated Cup Tray: | On top of the boiler and water reservoir is a stainless steel tray for warming cups so that the customer are always served at their best. | | Porta filter (Coffee Filter Holder): | Professional quality chromium plated heavyduty brass with Elektra logo. Handle is in red bakelite for practicality and to further evoke the period feel. | | Automatic Priming of Boiler: | After using the cappuccino (steam) function, the boiler automatically prepares for the next coffee, this is a feature only usually found on commercial machines. If the machine has not been used for some time the NIVOLA® will perform a preprogrammed srtart up sequence (control knob in steam position). | | Automatic Milk Frothing Attachment: | The NIVOLA has a cappuccino device that guarantees excellent frothy milk for cappuccino or latte without any particular experience. | | Unique Safety Features: | The water reservoir does not need a visual level indicator, when the water level gets low, the NIVOLA® senses this and cuts power to the main circuits, it then warns the user by a flashing red light and an audible alarm. If the coffee function is accidentally left on the machine automatically turns off the coffee function after approximately 40 seconds, completely removing the risk of a flooded worktop or messy floor. Similarly the steam function is turned off after approx 2 minutes.
